Lai Lai Garden Chinese Restaurant in Airway Heights

My mom, niece and I went Christmas shopping, on our way home we decided to stop in to eat as the food use to be good. The almond Chicken was so dry and had an odd taste to it that we couldn't eat it & the sweet & sour pork was not good either. The house chow mein was good and the egg flower soup was good.

Staff was nice. Food was ok. Quick service.

So I ordered two family dinners. I have a family of 5 and it says 2 min person per platter. It was not even close to enough for our family. Then they gave us two orders of almond chicken, I called to let them know I never got sweet and sour chicken. They told me to come back to get it. I get there and they start questioning me about it and asks for one of the almond chickens back. I tell them I don't even have it, It is at home! I call my husband and tells me yes it was two almond chickens. Finally I get some sweet and sour chicken, but it was so dry and chewy! The only thing that was good was the rice and like I said there was barely enough for all of us. Will never go back.

The staff was nice but the food was not good. Noodles were way too salty, rice had a fishy flavor to it, meat was tough, sauces were not very flavorful. Very disappointing.

It's been years since I've been here. The new owner is amazing! I can tell she loves to cook. Every dish was great! I will definitely be back soon. I can't recommend eating here enough, stop in and you won't be disappointed!!

Amazing food and service. Come during off hours for amazing food and not busy. This is my new local Chinese place.

Has been a few years since I ate here. Had heard it wasn't as good as it used to be. Well, they all were definitely right! Years ago, used to be so good, now it seems like all the recipes changed. Almond chicken was bland, tasted like chicken with a doughy breading on it. I could do better myself! Everything was just not what it should be as far as Chinese food goes. Gave two stars only because I'm probably too nice and I guess it was edible. I didn't eat much though, dog got most of it.

I've been looking a long time for Chinese that would rival that of my hometown. They exceeded my expectations. We showed up a little after closing and they still made us some Lo Mein...which was excellent. I would highly recommend this place and it will be my go-to spot in the future. Yummy!!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Great options. And staff is awesome. Been going here for many years. Owner always says hi and ask how my day is going.

Some times good service some are fake food is normally good

First time here food is excellent, it's clean like really nice clean. Staff is friendly. Best Chinese I've had in over 20 years. I'll be a repeat customer for my life time. Thank you for the great food.

I haven't been able to stop by here in a while cuz I'm always running late to some place or an other. It was just as good and delicious as I remembered. Waitress (the blond lady)was excellent, very attentive and I never saw my water glass empty. I should have ordered a full order of egg foo young cuz it was so delicious. To go of course. I'm so stuffed, and only able to eat half a lunch meal! Good atmosphere, typical motif, clean bathroom. Thank you for an excellent lunch! I'll have to leave early, if I can,so I can to stop by again, next time I come into town... 🙋🙄😊***Edit:. I 4got to mention the coconut prawns! With dipping sauce that was sooooooo good!I always get the lemon chicken & they changed the sauce a bit. To par-none excellent!

This place is the bomb! I totally recommend their food! I love the fried rice and the praws with sweet and sour sauce and their egg rolls. The staff is very welcoming and are very nice. Although they don't have many staff as other restaurants do.

the food was horrible and now not feeling well something is wrong w there chicken me and my friend are both not feeling well now. Waist of money this place has given up I will never go back 3 times of not being able to eat the food😤😤 I don't see this place being around to much longer because people will soon realize how bad it is non edible

Ordered their lunch special. Chow mein wasn't what you'd expect. It's literally dry chip like fried strings. Fried rice is regular rice with pork shaved onto it. Sweet and sour chicken was dry rubbery chicken with a sugary crust on top. Unappetizing which is unfortunate because I was very excited about trying a new Asian restaurant in AH.

Always have a great time here. Food is amazing and well priced. Very authentic and well flavored. Great for take out or dine in. Very quick and friendly service.

Ordered the Almond Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork. Almond Chicken has decent flavor but was a soggy mess (see picture). Sweet and Sour Pork looked promising but the pork inside tasted like gym socks. Even the rice was bad. On a positive note, they give you a lot of bad food.Update: I called them to explain my issues with the food. They offered to replace my meal.

I'm not from Spokane. Just passing through and found this place accidentally. It looks, from the street, like thousands of Chinese restaurants anywhere across the U.S. It was some of the best Chinese food I have eaten. I would recommend it to anyone. All the food was fresh. Cooked well and some of the best recipes for standard Chinese dishes I've ever had.

If you're looking for really tasty Chinese food, with friendly staff and fair prices, come to Lai Lai Gardens. If you also require ambience that includes reds and gold's to enjoy your dinner, you won't be fully satisfied. I personally don't care, as long as it's clean, which it is! I recommend this place...

Changed entry: sadly the previous time i was there i had ordered several of the daily specials and received...only orange chicken and rice! Then just tonight i had placed an order ahead of time and got home about three minutes after picking it up to everything being cold except the soup. Now I'm not sure if they left it out for a long time or if it just chilled at super speed because it's chilly and rainy out today (i do drive though) but the shame is they have good recipes. But they're inflexible. Online menu is garbage and offers no information or meals. And the food is crazy over priced sometimes (10 dollars to get a large soup) however service was excellent except they couldn't reach my cell for some reason.

It's quiet and the food is amazing. The prices are a little high, but the quality of food is worth it. Lunch specials would be great!

The best Garden chow mien you"ll ever have.

My dinner was so dried out it was like it had been sitting out way too long. The Almond chicken was the worst I have ever had! The prawns were shriveled up around a vast amount of breading. I live here in the area so I was embarrassed for them!!😖

Great food and prices. Service was top notch and friendly. I will eat there again you should try there calamari. It's excellent.

I just ordered ordered 5 different meals for my family. This has to be the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life, we threw all of the food away after a bite of each thing. Will NEVER go back there, the only positive thing is the amount of food they give you if you like it. Cashier was very nice as well, but the food is absolutely horrible.

Food is cold, prawns hard as a rock terrible food

We went there for lunch and the almond chicken sweet and sour chicken were so dry and rubbery. The chicken chow mien didn't have any sauce. Lemon prawns had more batter than prawn. It was really bad food. Gave them a 2 because we had good service. Won't go back

Awesome food, awesome staff. The cook comes out frequently to make sure you're order is good. Prices are fair, portions are big. Try the prawns they are huge!

I saw the 4 stars and was hopeful... I got general tsos chicken, almond chicken, and crab wontons. The almond chicken was literally a brick of dry chicken and the breading was biscuit batter. The generals was dry as hell too. The crab wontons were insanely greasy and somehow had no flavor... not bad flavor but no flavor and it was just a scoop of fake crab and no other filling... the lady at the desk was super nice but this is the worst Chinese I've ever had... ended up throwing away over $30 in food tonight.

It's just not our flavor of this style food we just could not get into it and by we I mean my husband myself and my nine-year-old son none of us finished our meals and we were super excited because the soup was really really good and then nothing else followed was but it was busy while we were there so it's hitting buttons for some people

So me and my mom went there and in the back round we heard coughing and gagging sounds discussing, over priced we did take out and when we got home the food was DISCUSSING I would rate it 5 stars if they where not caughing all over our food 😡 and if they lowered there prices but they where kind to us.

Overall food is good. Variety of dishes to try, just a little pricey.
